I went to Paris and had an aneurysm from the optical pleasures. Pictures say it all.
Pakistan was quite the country (wake, eat, sleep). After having realized that I shouldn't drink the water, I had already been sick for about a week. The bottled water helped. The stopover in Oman wasn't good for me either. The Holiday Inn looked really nice so I ate fruit and salad at the buffet and brushed my teeth with the water: got sick. Return flight - sick: 2 day recovery at Lenard's place. Couldn't tour much in the desert. Thought I could buy a couple of suits for really cheap. I'm still waiting on those suits - they're in Karachi. The desert air burns your lungs with dust and exhaust, and the open house is chilly during the day and at night the mosquitos bite at your fingers - one bit Sultan on the eyelid. The people there are fantastic: The family oriented lifestyle is very welcoming to strangers. I felt I knew them for years if it weren't weeks. InshAllah: if I go back to Karachi, I'd like to tour it.
Good memories of the bad ones - I like it. Maybe I won't miss the count down for the 2007 new year. Pakistan. On the hole it was bad, but on the whole it was great.
